Sooty and Co and When I was a Lad is the one with the guy playing the Hovis theme all the time and Matthew goes down tmill to prove to Sooty that there is more to life than computer games.

In 1976 Matthew Corbett took over The Sooty Show from his father, Harry Corbett, when he retired.
He himself retired in 1998 after 22 years, and hand-picked Richard Cadell to replace himself.

  • This is so funny. I watched Sooty religiously when I was a child but didn't know about this episode until the other day...the cornet player is my Dad!!!!!! Now I'll have to ask him if that was MY cornet he used...LOL
