High boost 4 cylinders usually have very low compression, and I bet your shitty mustang has really high compression, which is why it needs less boost. Btw stages mean jack squat in the Subaru world..so more than likely you were racing a WRX with a turboback, intake(with the stock after maf and turbo inlet), and a ots tune. Making somewhere around 250-260whp. That's about what a bone stock STi puts down on a dyno.
