River Phoenix, Il Adore

DISCLAIMER: The beginning shot is NOT actually River. I apologize to those who find it offensive and I accept that not everyone will enjoy this video because of my decision to use it--but please, watch the whole video before judging my choice.

This video is meant to emphasize that while something terrible happened to end River's life, we can focus on the beauty that proceeded it and try to be at peace.

This is a tribute using the song "Il Adore" from the Boy George musical Taboo. Clips are courtesy of many Phoenix films, in addition to the Cam Archer documentary entitled "American Fame pt.1: Drowing River Phoenix". Images from the latter may be upsetting to some viewers.

Hmm, I don't think this vid deserves the criticism it gets. I love it, the song, the editing, everything. The bit at the begining is sad, yep, but it has a great effect on the rest of the video. :)

this really isnt river phoenix in the video  when he passed away he was still filming ''DARK BLOOD'' and he had a dark buzz cut not his long hair. the actors name is jasper bel. so this really isnt river phoenix its just a documentary.

what we want to hold onto is the memory of how he lived his life and the effect he had on many people not his tragic untimely death at least not in the way u have chosen to portray it.

This is one of my favourite vids of River. It's really deep. Unlike some other people I don't think the begining is disrespectful, it emphasises on the tragedy of his loss and also empowers the life force that he had. It makes you appriciate the rest of the video more. Anyway River was amazing, and your vids are awesome. Make more River ones. :) xx

It's strange to see a video with the song "Il Adore" dedicated to someone else than Leigh Bowery, but still, very well done. It's strange that this song fits to River in so many cases even though he's been so different to Leigh.

I agree.I just watched "into the wild" and Emile Hirsch looks a bit like River Phoenix..heheh..but still,River is far more better than Emile in every aspect.

If ur going to show things like this then have some respect for river phoenix and get the facts !!!! The beginning scene with all the blood is leading those who dont know any better to think he died of a violent attack or something instead of substance abuse.. If your going to show something so shocking like this make sure its based on fact !! coz the first scene certainly isnt.
