dancing sangomas

http://sangomajourney.com This video was taken during a zulu sangoma ceremony. The ceremony usually starts around 6pm on a Friday evening and ends the next day sometime during late afternoon. Hours and hours are spent dancing and singing with a single drum for accompaniment. The purpose of the dance is to reach trance.

The two main dancers in red, black and white are mother and daughter. The mother is the matriarch and the senior sangoma. She claims to have taught 400 twasas.
