I have a climber silver tech and a classic red craftsman. Do you think I should try to put the silver scales on the craftsman, and create a silvertech craftsman? Would the scales fit as if they were installed pay the manufacturer?

i just recently removed the scales of mine, and one of them bacame loose, so i contacted victorinox and they said they had to be machined on

On the small ones if you leave the scales off it can make the knife a ton thinner

for someone who just carries a knife to have the "handi-ness" of it (not an outdoorsman by any means at all) why not just snap the scales off, so its thinner in your pocket? I do a lot of really fine small electronic modding, and just picked up a victorinox tinker (new) at a gun+knife show, and after seeing this, I'm positing that I've going to keep the scales off of mine. I just wanted to know any negative effects of this (remember, no exposure to outdoor elements)
