  • As good as any other Who albums except in a much different tone.

  • It must be the lack of synthesizers.

  • Great song. Great album.

  • And incredibly underated.

  • "When you find about their birth sign, you realize there was no need to have asked."

  • GREAT

  • @IDontEvenKnowMyself I totally agree...it's really underated! One of my fav Who's album.

  • 'When I was a boy', allways loved the drumrolls at the end, untill I heard, with later acquired decent equipment, that they were done mostly by Thunderfingers'' ...Haha!

  • jesus, the whole building probably shook when they recorded this...

  • Favorite tune on this album.

  • Love Entwhistles bass line on this...really jumps all over the place esp. near the end where it pumps along Keiths frenetic pace on the drums....really fine...I sat 10 rows center stage in the front at the Houston show in November, 1975 at The Summit. I was 17 and had mid-terms the next day...A good friend of mine finagled us into the after party at the Galleria Hotel..the theme was "Squeeze Box" as Moon danced with about 10 topless babes and they played their "squeezeboxes" on his face...lol.

  • Pete said in a recent interview that all you say is true about By Numbers - they are tricky to play live. But they blow the roof off with Dreaming From The Waist 75-76 and 79 tours (even with Jones). And sneak Slip Kid in now and then. What Pete also said is these songs were written from a specific emotional place at that time and he doesn't care to re-enter it. Roger is the one who likes the By Numbers pieces and tries to coax Pete into playing them even today.

  • I saw this band December 8th, 1975 at Cincinnati Riverfront Colesium. They played off this "Who by Numbers" album. The ticket was $7.50.

  • i just read an article that said the new single by kelly clarkson has been copied by beyonce. or vice versa. anyway they played the track by kelly clarkson-- it was a direct rip-of of the old sinead o conner's "nothing compares to u". a bit more andante in tempo. and beyonce is always ripping off shakira-- somebody dare rip off this ???WHO DARE?
