This classic 60's Surf Instrumental appears a few times on YouTube, all with dodgy audio so here's my contribution, clean sound and Stereo.

Thanks for your comment, however I think a lot of Surf music fans would disagree with you.

this is ABSOLUTELY a "surfing song"... if you've ever been out there on the waves, standing up, you know the grandeur... the record was designed as such.

Thanks. Nice quality but not quite the hit single version, which was slightly sped-up (so pitched higher) and extended to 2:43.

Discogs lists the guitarists on the album as BIll Pitman, Ray Pohlman, and Tommy Tedesco and the bassists as Dave Gates and Jimmy Bond. They may not all be on this particular track, though.

I disagree, this is a surfing song because, despite the fact that this has a slow surfing rhythm. Yes, the "Lonely Surfer" could have been influenced from "Lonely Bull" by Herb Albert. Remember, not all surfing songs are happy, some are sad and lonely like this one.

Yes I love this. I think it is very much a surfing theme. I can see guys on long boards tackling huge barreling sets in Hawaii or somewhere like that. The other piece I always associate with surfing (and I am sure it was never intended) is Fleetwood Mac's Albatross. Thanks.

Is this on some album or something? If so, what's the name of it? Maybe you or someone wrote it somewhere down below in comments, but I didn't find anything. This song is absolutely awesome and I'd love to get my hands on some record or album with this one.
