Can You Pull Two Phone Books Apart?

I Think Not..

As shown on mythbusters. We try it ourselves.

Simply get two phone books and overlap each page one by one. Then attempt to pull them apart.

Mythbusters used cars and still couldn't.. It eventually took 8000 lbs, which is 3636.4 kg of pulling power to get the books to come apart.

There is no trickery involved here. Try it yourself if you have doubts. No glue, tape, or adhesive of any sort is needed. Only TWO Telephone books, and 30mins spare time to overlap each page.

all u need r 2 tanks 2 pull them apart, then viola! actually its the friction of each page overlapping each other even thought it's not glued it feels like it's glued together

With 2 phone books, (if they wern't done as slopy, no offense) wouldn't come apart with 2 cars pulling on them in different derections.

i tried this with two copies of a book we were reading in english, the day we were supposed to give them in to our teacher, so i gave mine and my friends in interleaved, our teacher didnt stand a chance, untill he got his fingers inbetween each book and basically de-interleaved them
