How to Jailbreak 3.0 on the iPod Touch 2G (Windows XP)

This is a video showing you guys how to jailbreak your iPod Touch 2G with OS 3.0. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

NOTE - A full restore to 3.0 is required if you are wanting to jailbreak 3.0 from 2.2.1 or lower jailbroken or non jailbroken.

ATTENTION!: You must upgrade to 3.0 before running Redsn0w. You also must have iTunes 8.2 in order to upgrade to OS 3.0.

I'm using version 0.7.1 in the video, but the latest version is not much different except it give you an option of installing Icy which is a Cydia alternative. I'm sure version 0.7.2 will have bug fixes so go ahead with the latest version.

NOTE - A lot of programs through Cydia are not working through 3.0 because they haven't been updated to work with OS 3.0. Have some patience and I'm sure that they will be updated :)

You want to put the ipod in dfu mode, look up how, then it should just be a matter of plugging it in

ok...i have an ipod touch 2nd generation version 3.0.....i tried using this program to jailbreak my ipod...and everything was working but then redsn0w was frozen when it said "waiting to reboot" so it did that for a long time...so i pressed cancel and now my ipod won't turn on and won't function at all....if any1 knows how to help, then please reply to this....thanks...

redsn0w won't open for me..it only opens in miscrosoft word..how do i get it to open as a file 2 jailbreak?

ftr on my toshiba with windows vista if you get a "Redsno0w has stopped working, windows needs to close the program" on this version, I could actually right click on the application one and hit compatibility tab and select the xp thingy.

i had the exact same problem so i downloaded dfuhelper followed the instructions and restored it to before the jailbreak. Now in the process of syncing and then will try jailbreaking again
