Frank Thornton opens up here with 'Lymeswold' cheese, followed by: Simple Cleanser, Flora margerine (when it only seemed to be for women), Andy's Records/Billy Ocean, Heinz Ploughman's Pickles & Ruddles County beer.

  • Billy Ocean's 1986 song 'When The Going Gets Tough... was covered in 1999 as a charity record for Comic Relief by Boyzone. Ronan Keating was a member of the group.

  • Infact it is indeed Frank Thorton who played Captain Peacock in Are You Being Served?

  • Is that 'Captain Peacock' in the Lymeswold one?

  • Ah ... Lymeswold before it was simply one of the most tedious and old of Private Eye's many tedious old running jokes ... the Flora ad was presumably an attempt to break the image of their previous "margarine for men" slogan (those ads were always voiced by Terry Wogan). And I think that's John Sachs of Capital Radio attempting to persuade us that Billy Ocean needed to do anything after "Red Light Spells Danger".
