This video is based on a true account of one passenger on Continental Airlines, where multiple Continental employees failed to follow standard procedure, handled the passenger's bag without permission, and conveniently managed to lose it. To this date, Continental gives no explanation for the employees' violations of procedure and holds no employee accountable.

Despite providing evidence of the lost items Continental Airlines still refuses to pay for the bags lost contents, such as heirloom family jewelery.

This incident demonstrates the airlines hubris regarding customer service and indifference to passengers belongings. Airlines are thriving while surprisingly only compensating less than 6% of passengers for lost bags. The notion that passengers may have to keep an eye on their carry-on bag for fear of the crew mishandling it, or worse, means that sleeping through your red-eye or international flight may be a thing of the past. We believe passengers should of course be aware of their belongings, but they should not have to add to the irritations associated with flying the anxiety of lurking incompetence or thievery, like one might find at a bus station.
