Following up 4thPOC's point - I'd like to know how many fiddle players started in Suzuki... promoting ear training seems to be a logical start to fantastic feel for all styles like old-time.

Her right hand articulation adds so much drive to this tune. That SNAP of the bow makes it sound like she playing with a band, and adds a fantastic textural tension against the open drones of that cross-tuned Silakowski.
This is what happens when you ignore the ridiculous infighting in the violin/fiddle world. When the kids who've studied classical bow technique are encouraged to follow their hearts, the world is rewarded with the Haas sisters and Casey Driessen. Nothing is lost.
