Can I say that i absolutely DESPISE the whistle on this? The detail can be wonderful, the smoke can be enough to set off smoke detectors, the crew chatter could be perfect...but there is nothing worse than an ugly whistle! It's not even a nice N&W "hooter" sound! It's just an unrealistic, high pitched, "park train" type whistle! ...and I am fairly certain that the Pennsy used chime whistles on their yard switchers anyway!

It's actually fairly typical of a PRR hooter (single chime) whistle that was used on many of their freight locomotives. People can't stand them, but they are quite prototypical.

On a standard steam locomotive, for each complete revolution of the drivers there are four chuffs.
