Think about it... Let's do a hpothetical; The world is ending tomorrow. We know this for a FACT. You really believe the governments of the world would give two flying fucks about you or informing you? Yea right, a real threat would never be reported until it hits and even then they would deny it and trivialize whatever kind of disaster we may be talking about.

Politicians are professional liars. They do NOTHING but lie and "angle" things you don't want to hear, it is EXCLUSIVELY what they do.

If there's one thing I absolutely hate, it's people who don't let the public know LIFE-SAVING information because they're afraid it will cause a 'panic'. The sad part about this movie is I would totally expect our government to behave this way. It's realistic in that regard IMO.

@facepalmization Unfortunately our Russian geological sensor equipped satellites discovered magma plumes rising in several parts of the United States, how near they are to the surface and how large is still being currently studied. It is of interest to us also since we discovered magma plumes rising in Northern Siberia near the Arctic Sea.

@facepalmization Except that THIS is not the end of the world. It's a disaster of global proportions, but one in which the human race would survive. The politicians would eat themselves alive while the U.S. government fell apart and the US landmass was taken over by some other government(s).

Remember the shortlived TV show "Jericho"? That's more like what would happen.

The governments worst enemy is truth. However the information would get out. Thank the internet for that.

You Maggie Chin needs to shut up & die!!! Look at the mass panic that you've just caused & you don't even care about that or what FEMA/USGS/etc is having to deal with. All you care about is fame & being there first. Those military, congress, white house, etc jacka** people are going to regret claiming it's going to be the size of Mount St. Helens. So what if it stops the chaos; they're still not going to be far enough away & prepared enough for a super volcano to survive.

It's a catch 22: Say something and people will die, don't say something and it happens, people will die.

Also the part about harmonic tremor is a bit misleading. Sure it means lava is on the move, but as the one guy said "it can stop as well as start". Redoubt Volcano in Alaska proved that a few years back.
