Custer Larue is the soloist, a very talented soprano from rural Bath county in the Shenadoah valley Virginia. She also was the singer for the Baltimore Consort. She uses the consort as her back-up. Ronn Mc Farlane was also one of the founders of the consort. This CD was what introduced me to those ballads. It is more polished than Jean Ritchie but these
arrangements are wonderful.
