  • KLRN's studios were on the camps, with a direct view of the scene.

    I seem to recall that it was fed to all three networks.

    I was a youngster then, and recall watching this live, although I'm in Boston.

    Each network had occasional commentary from their own anchors in-studio in addition to picking up KLRN.

    I recall at one point Chet Huntley was telling NBC viewers that "If you (were) in the Austin area, don't go anywhere near the University Of Texas campus!"

  • (this week) Aug. 1, 2011--45th anniversary of the shootings.

    A once peaceful Austin would never be the same.
