I seem to recall that it was fed to all three networks.
I was a youngster then, and recall watching this live, although I'm in Boston.
Each network had occasional commentary from their own anchors in-studio in addition to picking up KLRN.
I recall at one point Chet Huntley was telling NBC viewers that "If you (were) in the Austin area, don't go anywhere near the University Of Texas campus!"

(this week) Aug. 1, 2011--45th anniversary of the shootings.
A once peaceful Austin would never be the same.
