This is exactly what I have been figuring out since I joined the Army. The government doesn't produce anything! It doesn't contribute ANYTHING to the economy, it simply takes money and burns it. Almost literally. I've been trying to explain this to my fellow soldiers, but they don't quite get it. There is no honor in being involved in an institution that enslaves the people and coerces them to pay your salary. There is no honor in destroying rather than creating. The whole thing is a scam.

This is classic libertarian views. I think a more intelligent liberal would agree with the facts of this video. Less intelligent ones are confused by the definition of words. Taxation by definition is taking money by force, without force it is called donation or charity.

To me it is not immoral to use taxation to provide certain services. One example is in the case of a foreign invasion. If someone does not wish to support the defense through taxation, jail for them.

@empbac I might have to join the military. Too many debts, and I have a felony criminal record for owning that demon weed. Dangerous criminal I am, no? Still, they'll let me serve in the military won't they? It's sad, a sad state of affairs, to be sure. But at least I'll be smart enough to buy silver and gold with my cash, and nothing else. I don't need to pay for food, or shelter, or anything really. So I can walk away with, literally a treasure chest full of precious metals. Silver lining
