dodge dakota vs Chevy silverado

dodge dakota slt 4.7 quad cab with k&n ported and polished throttle body vs a chevy silverado 4.8 with cold air tb spacer and a computer tune . the dakota takes it most of the way but the chevy gets the win with a truck length at top end

It's pretty hard for me to beleive that these dakota's are loosing to these trucks, beacause ive raced all these truck's the same style's and beat them all. I dont know what's goin on. are the other truck's on here souped up or what. It dont make sense to me,

yeah i dont know where your from but down here in south texas its all about the chevy trucks they do a computer tune on them that open up alot of horse power... but yeah

Wouldn't surprise me it lost at the end, the Dakota's have a week 3rd gear. Doesn't take long to get up to 80mph, but when shifts into 3rd its take FOREVER to get up to 100+

yeah do you have any ideas on what i need to do to get a little more top end? its also kinda weird cause a 5.2 in town says i got killer top end cause i pull away from him bad

3.92 or 4.10 gears maybe, if you have stock 3.55's. That should help some, but it'll kill your HWY fuel milage if you go with 4.10's or higher. Yeah the older 5.2 dont have the high rpm pull these 4.7's have, they dont quite wind up as high either.

thanks bro yeah that other dakota in town has like headers and programer and other little things more than my truck has but i still pull bad from him. i really cant put gears nobody here around where i live no one tunes dodge

if it was the 5.2 the dodge would have smoked the chevy trust me iv done it i have a 94 5.2 dakota and havent lost to any other truck its size and bigger bone stock just straight pipes thats it

im sorry to say but i have a 4.7 dodge dakota and i spanked a 5.3 silverardo top speed is 99 on silverado and 115 for my dakota so i doubt a silverado got it on top end
