MC5 - Tonight 1972
Released 1969

Sittin in the classroom
Feel your heart goin boom
You start to get the feelin
And your head begins to reelin
And you cant hear what the teachers say
Because the news is going down
About the rock and roll dance in town
And you know i just gotta hear that band play

Tonight (6x), oh tonight

Well, tuesday got the letter
The army thinks i better
Get myself down there right away
Its not that im lazy
Im just too crazy
To be goin doin things that way
Because the kids will be in town
And the jams will be going down
I wanna do things the natural way

Tonight (6x), oh tonight

Every day you can hear em say
You gotta get down in the usa tonight
Alright everybody its rockin time

(Instrumental)

One night only in town
I heard mama and papa talking
I heard papa tells mama:
.....

(Instrumental)

.....

(Instrumental)

Sun starts goin down
I call my girl up on the phone
I said ill pick you up at eight
At last well be alone
I hop in my machine
You know i gotta make the scene
Dancin through the crowd
Say the people goin wild
When the bands really rockin
There's no stoppin
My girl begins to twirl
The room begins to whirl
Its outta this world
Its outta this world

Tonight (6x), oh tonight

Hey now everybody I gotta get movin
I gotta muscle me up some action
Well Ill see you all later
Well bye bye

  • @Luckyhat66 i was just about to say that hahaha whats up with that

  • @jetrage69

why are you SCREAMING? And why do you ask something which probably has been asked -and answered- several decades ago?

  • yeah the shirt of norton

  • @jetrage69 Lots of people used the confederate flag as a sign of dissatisfaction and disaffection with the U.S. government in the 60's and 70's, not as a sign of racism. I think awareness has been raised since then and most dissatisfied people wouldn't use the confederate flag anymore to express such views.

  • fuck yeah! MC5!!!!!

  • Where's Mike Davis? Fucker jammed that bass as good as Dennis Dunaway.

This bass player has a bass, and an amp.

  • WHY DID THE MC5 HAVE THE CONFEDERATE FLAG WITH THEIR SHOWS?? I HOPE THEY REALIZED THAT FLAG MEANT RACISM AND SLAVERY IN THE USA IN THE EARLY YEARS , SOMETHING THAT BAND WAS AGAINST , BEING THE LEFT WING ROCK N ROLLERS THEY WERE

  • @Luckyhat66 The first drummer spontaneously combusted!
