There is a new buzz word in Rwanda - 'Agaciro'.

This short film highlights what the Rwanda-African traditional value of Agaciro is, and it encourages individuals to dig a little deeper into who they are, how they describe Agaciro in their in their community and country.
This is but a scratch at the surface of this concept.
There will be more in-depth productions coming from us in the future about this topic.

This was a commissioned production that premiered on Rwanda Day - Chicago in June.

It was a great honor to work on such a project. We had a fantastic team to help pull this off.

Directed by Annette Uwizeye & Allan Karakire
Written and Produced by Annette Uwizeye
Edited by Olivier Uwayezu
Camera by Christian Gakombe
with support from Jolie Murenzi and Pierre Kayitana.

Enjoy!
Annette Uwizeye.

  • i miss home & can't wait to comeback..my country...a lesson of hope.

  • Agaciro made Rwanda the only country on the African continent that never lost a single person to slavery, made us unbroken society for almost 3000 years now and still counting, kept our language and culture than any one, unprecedented well organized and stable society for a long period of time. Rwandan society is the only non-confrontational society in the World where the National language is Identity with no territorial boundaries. When our previous goverments lost Agaciro, we paid heavy price

  • Thank you Rwanda, for AGACIRO ( Self esteem, Pride and Valor ) all these combined make or mean: AGACIRO. that is what we lacked for so long, and the absence of AGACIRO led to self destruction, since lack of AGACIRO creates insecurity. We were insecure, unhappy, intimidated and manipulated. AGACIRO gives you the sense of Leadership, Self esteem, Self confidence, Audacity and Wisdom. Rwanda, you don't cease to amaze me.

  • amazing, AGACIRO
