ahhhh...these were the days when she wasnt to be played with....I used to see her on tv back then, with my mouth open, because i just didnt think it was humanly possible for a sniger to sound like a "sound effect". Just pure perfection. And the band and background singers were off the damm glass!...just bananas, how good she was.

This is amazing but as for the comment that Aretha sang live more than any performer today. i doubt that. She never did the mind boggling live tour dates of Tina Turner etc. Although she could have she just chose not too.

I think she was vocally better on this version but the Saturday Night Live version had more energy.
