Time lapse of our backyard, photo taken every 30 seconds for 15 hours using Nikon P90. Night exposure is 2 seconds. Total of 1800 snapshots. Flash, exposure compensation and focus is set only in 1st shot, this avoids frequent problems of over/under exposure and subsequent flashing of video. Camera itself creates AVI, no need for additional software or PC hookup for time lapse. Available time lapse options are intervals of 30 sec, 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min and 1 hour. Max shots is still 1800 and resolution is limited to 640x480. I noticed night shots had 2 second exposure vs less that 1/10 sec for day time shots. So the camera does offset exposure duration based on lighting conditions.
I did use an AC adaptor as the internal battery is only good for less than 400 shots.
