Wow, all this time I thought it was all metaphors. The thought that she actually needs help from "Suzanne" to escape an abusive relationship only JUST occurred to me! ("I don't know if I'm safe and sound... My favorite color's green, not black and blue...") YIKES! It's like Billie Holiday for a contemporary audience. ("He isn't true... He beats me too... What can I do? Oh, my man, I love him so...")
