  • Hanson is a great intellectual and a very humble guy. Modern-day Cincinnatus.

  • The fact that the west makes more wealth and technology IS a moral issue. The fact that westerners are free to pursue their own goals and happiness and create incredible values for themselves and trade them is the hieght of morality.

  • try reading "the bard of booboisie" and ask yourself why this man dines with war criminals.

  • hold that f*** camera straight! otherwise, nice vid

  • @roshanaye That was pre-Islamic Persia. Islam fucks up everything it touches.

  • The Persians are the only that they save Israeli's in the history, check the historic book, hope this professor read some more.

  • Who has killed the most Americans?...Robert E Lee....U S Grant.....R J Renolds....John Barleycorn....autos....

  • Excellent video! Hanson is great.

  • i don't like when smart people make big mistakes. Mr Hensen forgat about Islamic Persia in the 16 century.

  • An insanity well protected by this country's basic institutions, beginning with the military, but an insanity nevertheless. And everything insane sooner or later collapses.

The major victory for the enemy will be when it can convince the people here that an existential war is really an optional one. This is how Rome collapsed. This is how Poland collapsed.

  • The enemy is clearly winning in propaganda war here. Victor Davis Hanson is absolutely right when he describes the growing distance between U.S. military people and the rest of the country. But the U.S. military outlook is not just some outdated 19th century view of the world, it's basic sanity. And the rest of the people are – some faster, some slower – collapsing into insanity.

  • I have no hope. The problem is that while radical mood switch might be going on in the Arab world, there is definitely radical mood switch in the other direction going on in America. How could the people who stood on all street corners with American flags shortly after 9/11 vote for Obama 9 years later? And might re-elect him, or worse, not re-elect him because he turned out to be not crazy enough.
