yes, mowing, i thought the same.. NotLocke is the smoke monster, is the dark side, Jacob, he's there for our people, right when they need him, no matter how long ago. Or where they are. He is there.  Locke's eyes in the dream, they were our clue, and the battle, the one that's coming, I think is the battle between good and evil. Also, that shot of Jacob with the Annubis statue and the shore and the beach, is our Island the crossing over place??

I just had a thought. rememer the pic of the anubis and the smoke monster that ben seen b4 the monster came to judge him. well is it just me or is that a representaion of jacob as the anubis and thats man as the monster

Man In Black is Jacob´s brother, Jacob threw it to the light that is at the center of the island ´cause he killed they´re "Mother" but she wasn´t they´re real mother, they´re real mother was killed by "Mother" when Jacob and MIB were born, they´re real mother got there ´cause of a shipwreck, the false Locke is the MIB who took his image just as the Christian Shepard´s image.

He wants to kill Jacob cause thats the only way he can get outta the island...........

I think that Esau and the smokey are not the same and Esau can turn into people using the dead bodies on the island like Christian and locke(and can touch things like torches and kill people) and smokey can either turn into people but cant touch anything or just makes people see people that are not there like Yemi and Alex.

obviously jacob and "the man" as you refer to him are at war. Jacob has the power to grant people powers, and heal them. Meanwhile his rival is able to take the form of dead bodies on the island Locke, Christian whose body was on flight 815, and Ben Linus dead mother. His rival is maniupalting the Linus and Locke to do his bidding, while Jacob is trying to show there is some good in humanity. Hence he goes to troubled people like the 815 survivors.
