Semi and fully automatic Lego RBP (20+ ammo)

This is the best semi automatic lego rubber band gun ever built, by me. With the fire selector switch it can be switched to fully automatic mode. It can be loaded with 20+ rubber bands, size 1,5x60mm or 3,0x100mm (depending on barrel length). It has a firing rate of 21,3-23,75 rubber bands per second, in fully automatic mode (with the smaller rubber bands).

Warning: The gears are put under serious stress in the long barrel version. My 8 tooth gear broke.

SEMI AUTOMATIC: Only requires a trigger pull for each round that is fired, unlike a single-action revolver, a pump-action firearm, a bolt-action firearm, or a lever-action firearm, which require the shooter to manually chamber each successive round. (from Wikipedia)
A double-action revolver also requires only a trigger pull for each round that is fired but is not considered semi-automatic. The difference in a double-action revolver is that the act of pulling the trigger also rotates the cylinder moving the next round into position. Semi-automatic function uses the recoil force generated by the last fired cartridge combined with spring action in the firearm to ready the next round to be fired. (from Wikipedia)

FULLY AUTOMATIC (The same as rapid fire): Will continue to fire as long as the trigger (or other activating device) is pressed or the ammunition is exhausted. (from wikipedia)

how do you make the gun switch from semi to full auto?And how do you make the gun so stable? When at home I try to build a semi auto gun or full auto with a gear with maybe 15-30 teeth it ends up shooting in a burst, like a single shot shotgun.
