@faithinfenway More or less, American people are shaped by the "America" molded by their government. This "faith in the American people" holds insofar as they are willing to oppose a few aspects of American policy (and really vocalize that opposition).
This documentary shows how hard it is for Aljazeera to oppose America's dominant ideas and I think that it would be just as hard, if not harder, to oppose from within, but that cannot be an excuse for passivity on the part of the people.

What makes me really upset is that people on here make the mistake of saying the American people are the ones to blame. That is not true it is the government! We are normal breathing human beings like everyone else. The man right in the beginning says he has faith in the American Constitution and the people, we are not our government, and we do not like everything that goes on. Bush's 30% approval ratings prove that.
