From what little I've read in the comments, a lot of people just don't quite get her. And it is damned unfortunate that she only put out (I think) 2 records. She was just an original and Lucky Number is just a damned fine song. I go with the idea that she sort of paved the way for Cyndi Lauper. One has to realize that she was a true pioneer in the brave new world of video music (along with some other oddities like Mike Nesmith [yes, THAT guy] and Adam Ant). I actually got to see her in concert.

Most peopel don't realize how she paved the way for virtually every female performer after her. Unafraid to take chances that were out of the norm and unabashedly so she helped to transform the highlight of women singers for their talent not just as objects.

i remember this classic song from when it was in th uk charts. lena was fabulous and innovative back then and still stands the test of time in 2013. without these pioneers the pathway would have been a long tread for artisits like gaga.

New Wave and Rock; my fave genres from the 80's; good times!!!! 1978/197 and then straight to the 80's. B52's, The Cars, now I gotta get some Lena tunes; just learned about her from an old Pat Benatar interview from 1979; I guess they didn't play Lena on the radio here in the states as far as I can remember.
