Way back in 1991, in a world not much different from the one you live in, there was a television station, KRRT-TV in San Antonio Texas.
KRRT was an independent station started in 1985. And, although later affiliated with this relatively new network people called "FOX," programming was filled with old favorite television shows and mostly... movies.
So, It came to pass that I noticed there was a five minute, "hole" in the 4:00 am local programming. Usually this hole was filled with cartoons or maybe an old 3 Stooges short.
But I had a lot of time on my hands and I asked if I could produce a "fill" to help promote our upcoming November sweeps. Surprisingly KRRT replied with a resounding, "Sure, what the heck."
So I created this video fill mashup. I was using 1-inch video tape, UMatic 3/4-inch video tape, Grass Valley Switcher and the Chyron Character Generator. (I had originally created this cool text video overlay thing using my Mac Plus, but couldn't patch it in to the production board anymore, so I had to hurriedly create the text in a more boring way using the Chyron at the last minute
It aired only once, but I submitted it to the local Addy Awards and it... didn't win a thing. Oh, well. (However, a couplea years later, when I was looking for work, a couple of advertising people remembered seeing this promo... kinda cool, no)
So I dug up a vhs tape of my promo reel stuff and transferred it to digital form.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! Been waiting since the beginning of youtube for someone to post something from KRRT 35. I remember the 3 Stooges shorts, cartoons and sometimes movie (and later Fox) behind the scenes promos that would pop up after movies from time to time. Do you have anything else from your time there?
