UMUC should change its name.
The University of Maryland, College Park (located on the adjacent campus) is a competative and prestigious school and as such garners significant name recognition. In comparison, the admisions standards and accademic rigor of UMUC are much lower. It is unfortunate that the University of Maryland brand gets watered down by UMUC's low accademic standards.

UMD or UMCP and UMUC are nothing alike. They rent campus space across the country and offer classes to soldiers online in Iraq. The heart of the school is online based and what you get at UMD campus is night classes offered for full-time workers. My video here, is in the Mathematics building, on UMD campus - not any "adjacent" campus.
There are also local campuses at Largo, Waldorf, and Shady Grove, MD.
Majority of the school is over the age of 25 finishing up school or coming back.
