Ah! Got it! Thank you VERY much! I have NEVER fired a gun before. I would LOVE to find someone willing to sponsor me for a gun-safety/shooting class. My income is UNDER $9,500 a year, so this would be the only way I could get into this.
Tahnkls again for the reoply.

@dataykhan - I use the F-1 Shooting Chrony. it has work well in all temp extremes, and has been very accurate (It's also very affordable at less than $100)

What does a Chronograph do? Could you lead me to a web-site that shows this?

@stevenscottoddballz - the ballistic chronograph tells you the speed of the bullet. You shoot several times to get your avg, which will tell you the high, low, and Avg velocities. Very handy tool for reloading, or target shooting. They start around $100 and go up from there (sometimes you can get really good deals on them) It's nothing but a fancy stop watch. It watches for the shadow of the bullet in the front to start, and in the back to stop. simple to use.

you said the ammo was a bit old, don't some gun powders get "hotter" over time? that could be why you were shooting slightly high FPS.

most "old" ammo really does nt change much if it's stored right, but... some countries load the ammo a lot hotter than we would, and I think that was the case here... I still have ammo that I shoot that dates back to before WWII.. now thats old ammo.. lol
