  • She's the best Cherubino I've heard in this production. Let's hope she'll come back and do it again next time they do it.

Why we not hearing more of her at Covent Garden... get her back.

  • marvellous voice and perfomance, really amazing. I adore this version. Congratulations from Spain

  • Very natural interpretation, 9.9/10!

  • almost perfect. I didn't like the flourishes she added at the end.

  • Adorable!

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE WORLD, THANK YOU ROYAL OPERA

  • @egraceq .Thanks for the comment. I was basing my earlier comment solely on the voice quality and to a lesser extent on acting. But after all, it is only one video and it is difficult for me to determine how much the voice quality is enhanced by the recording vs. actual singer's voice quality.

I agree that Rinat Shahman sang very well and acted the part perfectly, only thing I did like a bit less was the flourish at the end, which is a deviation from the score, I think.

  • @ToFSIMS While I agree the Maria Ewing performance is stellar in the voice and acting categories, Rinat Shahman plays Cherubino perfectly! She looks the part completely, and acts it very well, with wonderful expression in her voice. This performance is also a little more interesting to watch then the Maria Ewing. But, they are both amazing performances, and not easily compared.

  • This aria requires very good acting apart from the singing and Rinat makes the scene so realistic. Her emotional conflicts are there for all to see.

  • My favourite Cherubino of all time to date. The mezzo soprano Fabiana Katz will be singing it this coming Friday and Saturday. Can't wait to hear her..

  • Brava! Che bella voce, io non sapea che cantaste sì bene.... :)bellissimo suono, grande tecnica
