Canada - On board a brand new flying machine, a doctoral candidate in engineering at the University of Toronto has just produced a surprising feat. Read Article
A student has achieved the feat last month to take off and fly an airplane flying wings like a real bird. Called "Snowbird" this ornithopter flew to the town of Tottenham in Canada for a flight lasting 19.3 seconds, traveling a distance of 145 m simply by pedaling. On board the Snowbird, the Todd Reichert young engineering student at the University of Toronto, has found not a little proud of having accomplished one of the oldest dreams of humanity, that can fly like a bird. With an average speed of 26km / h, the first flight of this aircraft actually weighs only 43 kg for a wingspan of 32 meters, should be approved at an upcoming meeting of the International Aeronautical Federation in October. With this aircraft, the performance of Todd Reichert is now certain to be a landmark in history, representing one of his feat of human-powered flight the most successful in the history of aviation.
