SCORPIO FEVER- apran-n viv (1982)

Just after the split with Martino in 1982,Scorpio(fever) released the album vacances,from which came the tune "apran-n viv". This tune is truly a great example of kompa at its true form,a 'tour de force' of Kompa sinfonietta.Listen here for superb solos by lead guitarist Francois Mary saint Preux 'Ti Francois' and trombonist Saur Gelin 'samsonito' ................ Was that Tikit, the singer? Robert Martino, T-Vice father at the guitarre. In the 80s in Haiti there was a big rivalry between DP Express and Scorpio. DP usually kick Scorpio ass specially in carnival, but I was a fan of Scorpio

@whatevernameitis Yes, the singer is Tikit, but Martino did not play the solo on this recording.The guitarist on this recording is Francois "Ti francois" Mary Saint Preux. Like RetroMusic said, this song was targeted at Martino himself. It was an attack on Martino in the form of "voye poin".

@koyegoke1 the trombone player was Samsonito. Samso kept the band going under Fever for two more albums after the "Vacance" album. Samso is still alive.

@Jeanpi1068 i'm sorry i don't speake english, but i speake french effectivement les kermesses de scorpio ou dp express au carrousel de 17h à 20h j'etais tres jeune il fallait trouver le $ ou 5 gourdes sinon je faisais le mur puis que j'étais voisin de l'hotel des moments inoubliables et on priait le ciel qu'il pleuve car s'était le seul moment ou on pouvait se baigner dans la piscine ma maison était située entre celle de l'ancien ministre Blanchet et celle de Donacien dans la rue Lili Ganneau

i used to live in fontamara and actually went to one of their concert not at carousel that was where scorpio universal used to play. I forgot the name of the club but it was not that far from carousel on the side of the sea right at the entrance of Fontamara 27 . claudy fremont RIP used to play key board . he died a year or so after. I must have been 14/15 at that time . wow so many memories..
