  • What I'm saying is that if people with ED's were given help earlier there wouldn't be such a big need for the NHS to help people with serious medical problems, because there would be intervention available before it got to that stage.

Also, private treatment is VERY expensive, I was lucky enough to be covered by insurance, but even that was difficult, as insurance companies also base funding on weights/bmis/medical etc etc etc.

I believe a change would help greatly.

    Take care :) x

  • Spot on Sophie! No matter what weight I have been at I still have anorexia in my mind. When I got to my minimum my headspace was still highly anorexic. The weight is masking the real issues such as low self esteem, abuse etc. I have been most unwell in my mind when I was forced to gain weight-outside I looked healthier but inside I was still screaming for help! U r beautiful and worthy of help at any stage of this illness. Bless u love x

  • completely agree. great video

    xx

  • I totally agree with you.

Like why the hell do we need to label eating disorders. An eating disorder is an eating disorder, and if someone needs/wants help they should get it and unfortuneatley those who are severely underweight and are in denial of there situation they can't be forced into getting help unless they want it. Eating disorders do not discriminate.

  • I think this is partly due to the wrong view held by many of the medical profession that if you have an eating disorder, they can in some way 'cure' it by making you gain weight. Therefore, if they are approached by someone who is not very underweight, they don't know quite how to deal with it. I agree this needs to change, and I hope it will!
