@saulo2112 Agreed, Zepellin was heavily influenced by the great black artists, as was Cream, the Stones, the Animals, the Yardbirds, and the list goes on!!!!

@saulo2112 very well put, too many haters here on youtube who just want to put zeppelin down for paying homage to the great bluesmen of the south, they opened the door and influenced everyone from zeppelin to clapton, the stones and thousands in between, there would be no rock n roll without them, too many dwell on the negative instead of just digging the music!!!

This is the second time I've listened to a WD tune on youtube tonight. Both times when I read the comments, it appears there is some folks slamming LZ. That's OK because those cats have laughed all the way to the bank for years now. Also remember, LZ haters, many would have forgotten about much of the great blues if bands like the Stones, Led Zepplin, Cream and many more had not kept the blues flame going. Hendrix did much of the blues also and no one is knocking him.

@TasOMW Page always original? I may grant that for jones and bonham but Page started plagiarizing even when he was still on the Yardbirds with Dazed and Confused. And there were many others, too, but I won't care to mention them all, just this one: "Taurus" by Spirit. (Spirit opened many of their concerts on a tour).

Just listen to the music and appreciate it for what it is

@romienomie yeah, that's right, Zeppelin tried to play the blues..TRIED..but obviously they did not succeed..or wait..they did..if it were'nt for Zeppelin versions of Dazed and How many more times ( years ) and You Shook Me / when the levee breaks...these songs would have never been brought to light...Zepp turned them into classics....NOW THAT'S ARTISTRY but they did come up with some decent stuff on their own...Rock and Roll, Kashmir, Stairway, The Ocean, Misty Mountain Hop.....Heartbreaker...!

@biffula what about blues artists ripping off each other ?
-
@GranDrJ not all their songs, just the good ones :)

stop all the fuse on who sung the song better, different titles, and so on. black american music especially the blues influence the whole world and as americans we should all be proud of that

Led Zeppelin was well known for the musical taste of its musicians, and they made tribute to many Blues songs and artists.
There's no need to make any point about who or what was better... because Led Zeppelin would not exist if wasn't for the blues and the very first Rock musicians. And they were the first to admit that.
And they made a real wonderful job using the influences they had...
