Mental Health Liberation and Anti-Psychiatry Movement Part 1

Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist talks about the mental health liberation movement, the anti-psychiatry movement, the movement against psychiatric oppression. Sometimes seen as antipsych or antipsychiary or anti-biological psychiatry.

This is a movement made up mostly of ex-mental health consumers and the family members of ex-mental health consumers who feel they have been damaged by psychiatry. These people refer to themselves as psychiatric survivors. There are also several medical and mental health professionals that reject the belief system of biological psychiatry

My father was a physician, and he used to speak of the stages of the course of study to become an MD. Once the Doctorate is completed the Doctor does a residency in one of the areas of Medicine. My father said that he knew many Doctors who were either not succesfull in one or more fields of medicine ultimately choosing Psychiatry as their area of specialty. Makes one wonder doesn't it?

Thank you John Breeding for your understanding of the need to defend and stand up for people burt and to be burnt by psychiatry. As someone who has been arrested, forced to take unwanted drugs with bad side effects and driven OVER TWO HOURS IN FULL BODY SHACKLES down to a mental hospital on the other side of the state and finally put away for a week having to lie to be timely released only to come home to find that they gave my mom a nearly 5 figure bill. This shit's got to end.

I want this idiot, and others who follow him to go down to a local Veterans Affairs hospital. They have group sessions, for PTSD and MAJOR Depression. Please PLEASE go in their and tell the soldiers that they are "imagining" all of this and Depression and PTSD does not exist. I am confident there would be a news story the next day telling of some anti-psychiatrist QUACK got himself beat to a pulp in his local VA

This guy, is an utter QUACK Way to much acid and to much of Thomas Szasz. and for you people out their, who get MISDIAGNOSED for instance, it is discovered that you in fact just have a thyroid problem, which can mimic Bipolar disorder. For some ARROGANT reason, you people think that, the rest of the ENTIRE world, must be misdiagnosed just like yourselves. The only other group, that agrees with you QUACKS is the SCIENTOLOGIST'S.

My mom's psychiatrist saved her from killing herself 17 years ago, my psychiatrist now helps me to socialize and get good grades, and it works. Crazy people these days...

@furtherfarthest1 You might find that your so called mental illness is actually a true physical illness like thyroid disorder. It's worth checking instead of taking brain damaging drugs and believing the lies of psychiatry.
