Capote, in the front-running style of his father, the great Seattle Slew, outclasses a star-studded field. Alysheba flys in the final furlong to claim the show spot.

  • A great son of the legendary and immortal SEATTLE SLEW!

  • Capote might have been a better 3YO if not for the virus and then being rushed to the Triple Crown too quickly, though he might also have peaked that day. This was the greatest field of 2YO's I ever saw, when considering how many future Grade 1 winners Capote dusted that day.

  • I remember Gulch went to California early to get a race over the track before the BC, and Capote throttled him in the Norfolk. He beat some good horses here...and never won another race.

  • what abput skywalker

  • thanks for posting! what a field of stars capote gulch demon's begone and of course those 1987 triple crown darlings bet twice and ALYSHEBA

  • I love to watch races with front runners being challenged by closers!

  • WoW, Capote dispatched this field IN COLD BLOOD....ha ha!
