KL Bird Park - Canon 7D + Sigma 100-300 F4 + Sigma 1.4x

This was my second time to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park this year and with shooting video in mind. All videos were taken with Canon 7D and Sigma 100-300 F4 + Sigma 1.4x extender. All videos were fixed in focal length and static as i find any slight movement will cause heavy shake in the video especially at 420mm (probably need to upgrade my cheap tripod).

Hey, some nice footage here. I'm deciding between this lens between this and the 70-200L F4 IS. I'd be getting the extender with either one im getting. Any tips? Plus, where'd you get this lens in malaysia? TC!

I never tried 70-200L F4 but from the beginning I know 200mm is not enough for me and extender will slow AF down quite noticebly. Then again I cannot use this lens indoor without IS. In the end I decided on this lens and not any of the 70-200 and never regret.

does your autofocus work properly when not shooting video? my 7D seems to be incompatible with the autofocus on my sigma 70-200 when shooting stills.

@damnitblah It works fine with my Sigma 100-300 and my Tokina 11-16. It require some micro adjustment (+8) for my Sigma 50mm F1.4 especially shooting at F1.4

I love these shots. Shooting with the extender does limit the amount of light in the frame so unless the scene is very bright the images are a little dark.
