well it really all depends on what you like to play - but this thing is fairly versatile for a beginner. Now that I've been playing a little over a year I really want to try a lot of different things. So if you are a beginner then go for this because it has a lot of preprogrammed effects built into it which makes it sorta handy - but you will notice in time that you may want a certain oomph from the amp this thing can't really get

you probably have heard this before but try and play the song so slow you cant stand it, and practice with no distortion so you can hear your mistakes
