Location: Pei Ho Street Government Municipal Services Complex, 333 Ki Lung Street, Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong

Capacity: 16 Persons/1250kg/2750lbs

Total floors covered: 6 (G, 3, 4, 5, 6, U6)

Year of commission: 1995

Ever since the late 1980s, new elevators commencing service in government buildings in Hong Kong have begun to include brands other than those originally designated. Popular brands like OTIS, Kone, and Schindler as seen in this video, have hence managed to get into these buildings.

There are 3 lifts in the building as shown here. Nevertheless, only one, which is the one you see here, features erose floor button design, an extra floor button panel on the left of the landing door, and automated announcements. The other two do not have these features (only one floor button panel with ordinary floor button designs).

  • The U6 button is different from the Level G & 3-6 buttons because it's not Dewhurst Compact

  • That's something not perfect here, as in other words this button can't be recognized by finger touching by passengers with visual handicap.

  • What's on U6?

  • A mezzanine level of the 6th floor. Level 6 is an indoor sports centre and has a high headroom. Level U6 has half this headroom height counting from the ceiling.
