Abstract
Analysis of the public school system in America and how it rewards mediocre behavior and achievement among students and teachers as well. Mediocracy is explored through: the lack of instruction in the fine arts; a reduction in teaching of social studies; the cost of scoring sigh on reading and math tests; projecting an image of success with masking low expectations; and creating self-involved, unmotivated students that do not seek excellence.
