When a woman loves a man - Ruby Braff 1991
Ruby Braff is one of the most creative cornet players the world has ever seen. It is almost if he is most happy when he plays in a small setting. He then just lets go, isn't bothered or has to cope with other frontline musicians and can lean back and perform his brilliant improviational inventions.
Here he is accompanied by two sidemen who are just as creative but also know their place as rhythm musicians and be able to fall back to do just what is needed. A supporting role by producing simple hard driving swing. Howard Alden guitar and Frank Tate bass
Braff at his best
