Race ALWAYS matter, the world is not ready for racial integration, in fact I doubt it will ever be ready until the Lord makes an appearance.

Jack Caff clearly drags down CNN's claim to be fair and honest. He has gone a little loony and is no longer a "journalist". He cannot control his bias which has led to ridiculously unprofessional "reporting". Is this guy just allowed to do whatever he wants?

I agree liberalism and conservatism are just labels with no real meaning other than to lump political thinking into groups. But you can't escape the fact that Obama's policies fall in the group that labels itself liberal.
-
We this with race, we see it with income, we see it with the region we live in. So if you are going to approach his policies or anyones, don't look to see how conservative or liberal they are. Look at them for their substance and the effect they will have on the population as a whole. We are a community not a group of waring factions; but calling each other far right or left we make ourselves out to be just that.
-
We must be willing to see past those labels to one truth, if we want to fix education, community investments and other problems that affect all people then those terms must be eliminated. If you research them they have been interchanging throughout our history; liberals were once for slavery, then they were against, conservatives also. We have lost track of where our priorities are and that is with the people. Labels serve us in no way but to divide us.

What does that mean far to the left out of mainstream? And for that matter what is mainstream? He stands with the people, now there are some who would say in order to want social change you must be extremely liberal while some would say if you want moral change you must be extremely conservative. The fact is these are all human ideas. Far to the left or right is a term used to dissect the population against each other. In truth correction is neither of those things, it is what it is. . . Truth.

I have been to his website, and your right it is the ONLY way to find where he stands on policy. Far to the left out of the mainstream hidden in fine print.
-
He does but that is not covered. Please don't rely on the TV, go to his website and read his detailed plans. Get involved.

No his race doesn't matter. His policies do. Unfortunately he doesn't give policy speechs (they put people to sleep). What policies would he implement to reduce racial tensions? He left that part out, get rid of laws that give special rights to certain classes? Like hate crimes legislation - oh that's right he's a Democrat sorry I asked.

how did Falwell respond though? I really can't recall. We need to stop looking for sound bite answers that solve things. We've become too reliant on the "safety" of the quick fix. This isn't, nor are most things "quick fixes". There are deeper issues than what the Pastor said, and we can't deal with those until we understand the root of the problem. This isn't about blame, it's about solutions.
He wrote the speech himself.
It is a nuanced and profound speech.
They will be talking about this speech for years to come.
