On the Smash front, Link goes on a journey. He doesn't expect to find the Master Knight, who had been distracted away by the Hyphy Movement, the San Francisco Bay Area residents who prove that it doesn't deserve to be called the "Yay Area", the shallow girls who would say "wanna suck my pee" just to mock him, and the Oakland rioters, but he never the less goes with the bare essentials for combat. His route will take him by several stops, the first of which will be Hyrule Castle, where it turns out Dark Link awaits....

(Yes, Super Smash Bros. has finally been released on the Virtual Console. And I'm LPing it. I was not expecting to do so, but then, I didn't even expect to see SSB showcased for the Wii Shop. But anyway, I'm starting at Very Hard.)

(I actually tried a few previous attempts, but the first one, where I played as Kirby and died 3 times total including the 3rd time at Master Hand then unlocked Captain Falcon, was messed up beyond repair because I didn't test the waters for my usage of Pinnacle Studio. The second go, Audacity crashed and my efforts were in vain. The third go, I got so frustrated by those freaking Polygons that I just quit, when I had managed a good attempt at Giant DK where I didn't get killed by HIM despite him not killing himself as the AI will still stupidly do sometimes even on VH.)

*Stages in this part:
-Link - one-on-one, not too difficult even on VH, but don't let your guard down.
-Yoshis - try to use powerful attacks whenver you can. Even if you don't outright kill them, knocking away Yoshis will provide valuable space to work with against any other Yoshis.
-Fox - one-on-one, again not too hard if you keep your guard up, but be aware that unlike in Melee and Brawl, Fox's blaster makes you flinch. Luckily, it's not rapid fire, so you can dodge it and manage an aerial assault.
-Mario Bros. - you get a teammate, but the game on high enough difficulties grants them Artificial Stupidity so you can expect them to be Too Dumb To Live. Despite this, their mere presense makes this level little harder than Link or Fox was.
-Pikachu - another one-on-one, again not too hard if you're careful.

.....????? WTF IS UP WITH FOX AND LINK OMG

Nice job so far on this. Clearly the CPU was not as good back in the day...

  • Believe me, the CPU gets worse in the next two parts. The only reason it even gets to take a stock off of me is because it gets to abuse overly extreme handling of stuff.

  • Some of the tune for the Link v. Link battle reminds me of another Mario game, but I can't put my finger on it...

  • I'm doing an LP on this too :)

I lost the chance to unlock Ness cuz I got a game over on Master Hand :(

  • The intro was very exciting
