A tribute to 75 years of swashbuckler movies, the second of a trilogy (1st was "Honor, Love and Death").Stars and movies include: Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland in "Captain Blood" (1935), Errol Flynn and Brenda Marshall in "The Sea Hawk" (1940), Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara in "The Black Swan" (1942), Gene Kelly and Lane Turner in "The Three Musketeers" (1948), Jean Paul Belmondo and Claudia Cardinale in "Cartouche" (1962), Daniel Auteuil and Marie Gillain in "Le Bossu" (1997)...last two films directed by Philippe de Broca, Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones in "The Mask of Zorro" (1998), and Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in the "Pirates of the Caribbeans" trilogy (2003-2007). Music in order is 1) John Williams "Indiana Jones Title Theme" from Raiders of the Lost Ark, 2) Klaus Badelt from the Pirates of the Caribbeans (POTC 1: Black Pearl), 3) John Williams "Rebel Blockade Runner" (otherwise aka "Star Wars Theme"). I thank my friend Claudia :) for her wonderful contributions!

  • beautiful! it's a pity you didn't include any scene from The Princess Bride

but really nice work anyway ;-)

  • @AriochTheDestroyer good point! I am saving the Princess Bride for another video :)

  • Unforgettable was the sexy Cardinale in Cartouche. A memrable scene is where Belmondo carries her corpse while robbing. Throughout this film he swept her off her barefeet and carried her. She was smitten by this gorgeous rogue.

  • @imbluz :) Thanks for the comment! Yes, beautiful movie. Jp carried her after she was killed defending him. Then he robbed all the rich and used the jewelry to adorn her in the golden carriage.

  • This was wonderful. I generally don't click on long videos, but I found myself wishing this could have gone on. The old and the new, perfectly blended.

There is a movie I have been waiting for since I was thirteen years old, and I wish I could get the director to watch this. Maybe he has.

  • Thanks for your comments!! I know, my videos tend to be long but I hope you enjoy the others...

    hmm...which movie?? and which director?

  • Bravo!

  • This video is absolutely wonderful - the greatest!

  • forgot how much i love this, especially the finale

  • My three favourite swashbuckler movies are "The Black Swan" (1942), Swashbuckler (1976) and The Pirate (1948). Most people have never seen the last two movies, sadly, but I think they're two of the best swashbuckler movies. I love your video. Tyrone Power was such a hunk in "The Black Swan". <3.

  • Yes, plenty of people notice that Catherine is a modern-day CC. Because of that, she was asked to protray Claudia in the movie "Nine" but declined it (Nicole Kidman instead played Claudia's role from 8 1/2). But CC is more beautiful than Catherine.

  • John Carter of Mars and Andrew Stanton, respectively.
