Co-op means human players co-operating with each other...the numbers don't really matter.
Multiplayer is just a general term of several players playing together whether they're co-operating with each other or against each other, that's it.

@nemesis520 On the ps3 when it comes out next week, I don't think you can on the 360 now, but they might add it later even if you can't
