My young male Muscovy duck that I got a few months ago along with two females for free as young ducklings, unlike the mean wild male Muscovy ducks, is a dear! He follows me and students around, loves to be petted, and even picked up and kissed on the head. I've met super tame Nile Geese before, but have never seen such a sweet Muscovy duck. He and the two females LOOK mature so I am curious as to when they will lay their first clutches of eggs....I will Google that to see when it might be likely. I've read that Muscovy duck meat is dark and flavorful.....plus people tell me that duck eggs are good too. John
See how he has dropped his primaries a little? He's trying to be intimidating but instead of responding the way a male or female should you preen his feathers below his eye like a sibling which confuses him so much he gives the alarm call LOL!
