Depending on what year your vehicle is, you can sometimes "hotwire" the ECU to tell you what is wrong with the car. The newer cars though, this "hotwire" trick does not work, and you have to buy a ECM Error Code Reader.
Looks like fun!!!

When I lost my Flip cam I was DEVASTATED! Crushed and almost cried. HOWEVER it now means I can buy one of the super fancy new version that are all decorated!

I don't know what auto parts stores you have in PA, but I go to Autozone. They can check the computer and give you a print out for free. Beats going to a mechanic and paying $75 if it is just the gas cap and they can reset the computer so the light is off.

Some cars are programmed to switch on the check engine light after a certain amount of miles, so you will bring the car in for service. My last car, the check engine light came on at 50,000 miles and nothing went wrong with the car until it reached 70,000 miles. (the battery went dead) Thanks for the drive and I didn't even realize you had an extra set of teeth. You look fabulous either way! -Steve-
