Amy Winehouse In Court On Assault Charges

Taking a brief cigarette break from her trial a few hours ago, Amy Winehouse ventured in front of the worlds press looking slightly dishevelled as her assault case continued indoors.

The singer is accused of punching dancer Sherene Flash in the face last September at a ball in London. But defending herself earlier today, Amy said that she couldnt have possibly attacked Sherene as shes too short.

Instead the 25-year-old claims that Miss Flash, who is 5ft 7in tall and was wearing high-heeled boots, was drunk and being very rude to her as she towered over her.

Miss Flash came over and put her arm around me. She lent down. Shes taller than me. I had flat shoes on, Amy said.

When asked what shoes she was wearing, Amy jumped up from the witness box and twirled in front of the judge to show her shoes.

Im probably 5ft 2ins to 3ins tall, she said before rearranging her beehive hair and adding: But my hair does make a difference.

She continued: I had shoes on like this. In fact these are the very shoes I had on that night. Look, they dont even have a sole. They dont have a heel.

Compelling evidence we think youll agree. Amys case continues tomorrow as well, so well be watching eagerly and well let you know if the judge was actually convinced by that rather poor defence.
